Overview
Three days west of Cairo: an afternoon in Bahariya's palm groves, a full 4x4 day through the Black Desert and the White Desert's chalk formations, and a night in the oasis or at a desert camp.
The drive from Cairo to Bahariya takes about four hours, and the landscape empties out mile by mile until the green of the oasis appears. You arrive in time for lunch, then have the afternoon to explore the oasis town, its palm gardens and springs, before dinner and a night in Bahariya.
The second day is the reason for the trip. In a 4WD with your desert guide you cross the Black Desert, where volcanic stone darkens the hills, and continue into the White Desert, where the wind has carved the chalk into mushrooms and towers that glow gold and pink as the light changes.
You can spend that night at a desert camp or back in the oasis, whichever you prefer. After breakfast on the third morning you drive back to Cairo, arriving in the afternoon. Meals are included as listed, and there's bottled water in the vehicle throughout the safari.

Itinerary

Day 1
Cairo → Bahariya Oasis
Drive west from Cairo along the desert road to Bahariya, about four hours. Lunch on arrival, then explore the oasis town before dinner. Overnight in Bahariya.

Black Desert & White Desert safari
A full day by 4WD through the volcanic hills of the Black Desert and the chalk formations of the White Desert, with breakfast, lunch and dinner included. Overnight at a desert camp or in Bahariya.

Day 3
Bahariya → Cairo
Breakfast, then the drive back to Cairo, arriving at your hotel in the afternoon.
