Overview

A honeymoon that moves from Cairo's pyramids to a three-night Nile cruise between Luxor and Aswan, then winds down on the Red Sea in Hurghada, with a few romantic touches along the way.

This trip is planned for two. It starts with the great sights of Cairo, slows down on the Nile and ends with time to do very little on the Red Sea coast. A private Egyptologist guide leads the visits, domestic flights take the long distances out of the journey, and your room is decorated for your arrival.

In Cairo you visit the pyramids early, before the plateau gets busy, with time for photographs at the Sphinx and an afternoon at the Grand Egyptian Museum. Then you fly to Luxor and board your cruise boat, which is home for three nights as it sails south past Karnak, the Valley of the Kings, Edfu and Kom Ombo to Aswan.

After Philae and the High Dam you leave the boat and fly to Hurghada for two nights by the sea. There is no programme here: swim, snorkel, book a spa treatment or simply watch the light change over the water. A romantic dinner for the two of you is included along the way.

Day 1
Arrival in Cairo
A VIP welcome at Cairo International Airport and a private transfer to your hotel, where your room is decorated for the occasion. Welcome dinner in the evening. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2
Pyramids, Sphinx & Grand Egyptian Museum
An early start to see the pyramids before the crowds, with a private photo session at the Sphinx. Spend the afternoon at the Grand Egyptian Museum on the edge of the Giza plateau. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 3
Cairo → Luxor: board the cruise
Morning flight to Luxor and boarding of your Nile cruise. Visit Karnak and Luxor Temple, then watch the sun set over the river from the deck. Overnight on board in Luxor.

Day 4
West Bank → sail to Edfu
Cross to the West Bank for the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut. In the afternoon the boat sets sail south towards Edfu. Overnight on board.

Day 5
Edfu → Kom Ombo → Aswan
Visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, then sail on to Kom Ombo and its double temple. The boat continues to Aswan for the night. Overnight on board in Aswan.

Day 6
Aswan → Hurghada
Visit Philae and the High Dam, then leave the boat and fly to Hurghada; flights on this route usually connect through Cairo. Check in at your hotel by the sea. Overnight in Hurghada.

Day 7
A day on the Red Sea
A free day by the Red Sea. Snorkelling, diving or a spa session can be arranged if you'd like to fill it. Overnight in Hurghada.

Hurghada → Cairo → home
Fly from Hurghada to Cairo and connect to your international flight home.
