Overview
A six-hour trip from Cairo to a mountain top above the Red Sea at Ain El Sokhna, with entry fees, lunch and a tour representative included.
About two hours out of Cairo, the desert road drops towards the sea and the mountains of Ain El Sokhna rise straight up from the coast. We pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza and drive east with your tour representative, who looks after tickets and timings for the day.
The highlight is the 'rooftop' itself: a high vantage point in the mountains where the Red Sea stretches away below, pale over the shallows and deep blue further out, framed by bare, sun-baked rock. There's time to walk around, take photographs and simply enjoy the space and the sea air after the noise of the city.
Lunch is included before the return drive, and you're back at your hotel about six hours after pickup. The ground at the top is rocky, so shoes with good grip make it easier.
Highlights
- A mountain-top lookout over the Red Sea
