Overview
A three-hour trip to the 187-metre Cairo Tower on Gezira Island, with tickets to the observation deck and its 360-degree views over the city and the Nile.
Cairo is a hard city to take in from street level. We collect you from your hotel and drive to Gezira Island in the middle of the Nile, where the Cairo Tower rises from the gardens in a lattice of concrete shaped like a lotus stem.
A lift takes you up to the observation deck at the top, 187 metres above the river. From there the whole city spreads out around you: the Nile and its bridges, the green of Gezira, the towers of downtown and the minarets of the old city beyond.
On a clear day you can pick out the pyramids of Giza on the western horizon, though Cairo's haze often hides them, so take your time and let your licensed guide point out the landmarks. You are back at your hotel about three hours after pickup.
