Overview
A three-hour felucca sail on the Nile at Luxor, with breakfast served on board as the boat glides past palms, fields and the Theban hills in the soft morning light.
Mornings on the Nile are cool, quiet and full of soft light, and this trip makes the most of them. You board a traditional felucca at the riverside in Luxor, settle onto the cushions and let the boatman take you out into the stream.
Breakfast is served on board as you sail, something to eat slowly while the river wakes up around you: fishermen checking their nets, egrets along the banks and, on a calm morning, hot air balloons drifting over the West Bank.
With around three hours on the water there's no rush. The boatman tacks back and forth with the wind, and you can chat, read, take photographs or simply watch the banks slide by before you step ashore again.
