Overview
A hands-on pottery session for beginners at a traditional Cairo workshop, with professional instruction and your own piece to take home. Shared small-group tour.
Egyptians have been shaping clay for as long as there has been an Egypt, and the craft is still very much alive in Cairo workshops. This is your chance to stop looking at pots in museums and make one yourself.
We collect you from your hotel and take you to a traditional pottery workshop, where a professional potter shows you the basics, from preparing the clay to shaping your first piece. No experience is needed; patience and a sense of humour help.
By the end of the session you'll have a piece of your own to take home, and a new respect for the potters around you. The tour takes about three hours including transfers.
