Overview
Fly from Cairo to Luxor for a full day on the West Bank, a night in a Luxor hotel, then Karnak and Luxor Temple with your Egyptologist before flying back.
If you're based in Cairo but don't want to miss Luxor, this is the most efficient way to see it. You fly down at dawn, spend two days with a private Egyptologist guide and are back in Cairo by the evening of the second day, with flights, transfers and tickets arranged for you.
The first day is spent on the West Bank, where the pharaohs were buried. You go down into tombs in the Valley of the Kings, walk up the terraces of Hatshepsut's temple at Deir el-Bahari, see the carved walls of Medinet Habu, the craftsmen's village of Deir el-Medina, the Valley of the Queens and the two seated Colossi of Memnon. Lunch is at a local restaurant, and the night is in a Luxor hotel.
The second morning starts at a gentler hour. You cross to the East Bank for Karnak, a vast complex of temples, pylons and columns, and then Luxor Temple in the middle of town, before your flight back to Cairo and a transfer to your hotel.

Day 1
Cairo → Luxor: the West Bank
Pickup in the small hours and transfer to the airport for the flight to Luxor. Your Egyptologist guide takes you to the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's temple at Deir el-Bahari, Medinet Habu, Deir el-Medina, the Valley of the Queens and the Colossi of Memnon, with lunch at a local restaurant. Transfer to your hotel for the night in Luxor.

Karnak & Luxor Temple → Cairo
Breakfast at the hotel and pickup at 10:00 for the East Bank. Explore the temple complex of Karnak and then Luxor Temple, before the transfer to Luxor airport. On landing in Cairo you are met and driven to your hotel.
