Overview
Three nights on a 5-star cruise boat with full board and guided visits: Luxor's East and West Bank, Edfu, Kom Ombo, the High Dam and Philae, with time on the sundeck in between.
There's no better way to see the Nile Valley than from the river itself. You board your 5-star cruise boat in Luxor and, for the next three nights, your cabin travels with you. Each morning brings a different stretch of riverbank: farmers in the fields, children waving from the banks, and the desert hills never far behind the palms.
Every day mixes guided visits with time to rest. A licensed Egyptologist guide takes you through Karnak and Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut's temple, the remarkably complete Temple of Horus at Edfu and the double temple of Kom Ombo, with its small museum of mummified crocodiles. In Aswan you see the High Dam, the Unfinished Obelisk and Philae, and finish with a felucca sail.
Between visits, the sundeck and pool are the best seats on the boat. Meals are served on board, usually as a buffet, and the evenings are calm: dinner, a drink as the boat sails or lies moored, and early nights before early starts.
