Overview
An overnight first-class sleeper train from Cairo, a full private day on Luxor's West and East Banks, and the night train back to Cairo.
The sleeper train is the old-fashioned way to travel up the Nile, and still one of the most practical. You board in Cairo in the evening, have dinner in your compartment and wake up in Upper Egypt, ready for a day of sightseeing without losing a day to travel.
Our representative meets you at Luxor station and your private guide takes you first to the West Bank: the Valley of the Kings, the terraced temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. After crossing back over the river, the East Bank brings the huge temple complex of Karnak and Luxor Temple in the heart of town.
In the evening you board the sleeper again for the journey north, arriving in Cairo the following morning. Transfers in Luxor are by private air-conditioned vehicle, and entry fees are covered.
