Overview
About four hours away from the temples: a guided quad bike ride across the desert outside Luxor, with hotel transfers and a representative looking after you.
Luxor is mostly about temples, so this makes a welcome change of pace. We collect you from your hotel and drive out to the quad bike base on the edge of the desert, where the team fits you to a bike, explains the controls and lets you try a short practice run before setting off.
Then it's out into open country in a line behind the lead rider: sandy tracks, low ridges and long views over the stony desert, with stops along the way for photographs and a breather. No previous experience is needed; the pace is set to suit the group, and the guides keep a close eye on first-timers.
By the time you head back you'll have a fair amount of desert on your clothes and probably a grin on your face. The whole outing takes about four hours, door to door, and your representative stays with you throughout and sees you back to your hotel.

Hotel → quad bike base → desert tracks → Hotel
Pickup from your hotel and a short drive to the quad bike base outside town. After a safety briefing and a practice run, you ride out across the desert behind your guide, stopping for photos on the way. Back at the base, the transfer returns you to your hotel, around four hours after pickup.
