Two hours on the water in Alexandria's old Bahary quarter, kayaking along the Mediterranean shore with a guide, beach entry included.
Bahary is Alexandria's old seafront quarter, home to fishing boats, seafood restaurants and the Citadel of Qaitbay, built on the site of the ancient Pharos lighthouse. Seeing it from a kayak gives you a completely different view of the city.
After a short briefing on the beach, your guide gets you settled in the kayak and leads you out along the shore. You paddle at your own pace past the fishing boats and the citadel walls, with the curve of the Corniche stretching away behind you. No experience is needed, and calm days suit beginners well.
There's time to stop, float and take photos, or have a swim if the sea allows. After about two hours you're back on the sand, and the car takes you back to your hotel.
