Overview

Four private days: Giza, Saqqara and Memphis, a late flight to Luxor for a full day on both banks of the Nile, then the Egyptian Museum, the Citadel, Coptic Cairo and Khan el-Khalili.

This is a brisk trip for travellers who want the essentials of Cairo and Luxor in a short break. Domestic flights cover the long journeys, a private air-conditioned car and an expert guide handle the rest, and someone meets you at every airport.

After arriving and resting, you spend a full day among the pyramids: Giza and the Sphinx, then Djoser's Step Pyramid at Saqqara and the giant statue of Ramses II at Memphis. Lunch is at a local restaurant, and late that evening you fly to Luxor. The next day you cross the river for the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's temple and the Colossi of Memnon, then see Luxor Temple and the columned halls of Karnak before flying back to Cairo.

Your last day is in the heart of Cairo: the Egyptian Museum on Tahrir Square, the Citadel with the Mohamed Ali Mosque, the churches of Coptic Cairo and the Ben Ezra Synagogue, and a final wander through Khan el-Khalili before your transfer to the airport.

Day 1
Arrival in Cairo
Our representative meets you at the airport and drives you to your hotel. Check in and rest. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2
Giza, Saqqara & Memphis → Luxor
Pickup at 8:00 for the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure and the Sphinx, then Djoser's Step Pyramid at Saqqara and Memphis, with the colossus of Ramses II and the alabaster sphinx. After lunch at a local restaurant, transfer to the airport for a late-evening flight to Luxor. Overnight in Luxor.

Day 3
Luxor: West Bank & East Bank → Cairo
Pickup at 8:00 for the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el-Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon. On the East Bank, visit Luxor Temple and Karnak, with its avenue of sphinxes, Great Hypostyle Hall, obelisks and Sacred Lake. Evening flight back to Cairo. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 4
Egyptian Museum, Citadel & Coptic Cairo → departure
From 9:00, visit the Egyptian Museum on Tahrir Square and the Citadel with the Mohamed Ali Mosque. Continue to the churches of Coptic Cairo and the Ben Ezra Synagogue, with lunch along the way, and end in Khan el-Khalili before your transfer to the airport.
