Overview

A relaxed six-hour transit tour from Cairo airport to the Giza plateau: the three pyramids, the panoramic viewpoint and the Sphinx, with a guide throughout.

Long enough to see the pyramids properly, short enough to fit between most connecting flights. Your guide meets you in the arrivals hall after passport control, and the drive across Cairo to Giza takes about an hour, depending on traffic, until the first pyramid appears above the rooftops.

On the plateau you walk around the base of the Great Pyramid, built for Khufu some 4,500 years ago, then drive up to the panoramic viewpoint where all three pyramids line up against the desert. Last comes the Sphinx, carved from the bedrock beside the causeway to Khafre's pyramid, and the granite Valley Temple next to it.

There's time for photos and questions without feeling rushed, and lunch can be added on the way back if your schedule allows. You're dropped back at the airport about six hours after pickup.
