Overview
Ancient Cairo at both ends of the trip, with three full-board days by the Red Sea in Sharm El Sheikh in between, and Saqqara and Memphis on the way home.
This trip splits neatly in two. You begin in Cairo with the Egyptian Museum, the pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx and a wander through the bazaar of Khan el-Khalili, all with a private guide who speaks English, German or Spanish.
On day three a short flight takes you to Sharm El Sheikh, at the southern tip of Sinai, where your hotel is on full board and the days are entirely your own. The coral reefs of Ras Mohammed are close by for snorkelling or diving, or you can simply move between the beach and the pool.
Before you leave Egypt you fly back to Cairo for the older chapters of the story: Djoser's Step Pyramid and the decorated tombs of Saqqara, then the colossal statue of Ramses II and the alabaster sphinx at Memphis. Every flight, transfer and ticket is arranged for you.

Day 1
Arrival in Cairo
You are met in the arrivals hall at Cairo International Airport and guided through passport control and luggage collection. A private air-conditioned car takes you to your hotel, where the afternoon and evening are free. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2
Egyptian Museum, pyramids & Khan el-Khalili
After breakfast your guide collects you for a full day: the Egyptian Museum's galleries of statues, coffins and jewellery, then the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure and the Sphinx at Giza. You finish in Khan el-Khalili before heading back to the hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

Cairo → Sharm El Sheikh
Breakfast, then a transfer to the airport for the short flight to Sharm El Sheikh. Our representative meets you on arrival and takes you to your full-board hotel by the Red Sea, where the rest of the day is free. Overnight in Sharm El Sheikh.

Day 4
Red Sea day at leisure
A whole day to spend as you like. Snorkelling or diving at Ras Mohammed and other water sports can be arranged locally, or you can stay on the beach with a book. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at your hotel. Overnight in Sharm El Sheikh.

Day 5
Another free day by the sea
A second unhurried day on the coast, to swim, explore or rest at your own pace. All meals are at your hotel. Overnight in Sharm El Sheikh.

Day 6
Sharm El Sheikh → Cairo: Saqqara & Memphis
After breakfast you fly back to Cairo, where our representative meets you. Your guide takes you to Saqqara for Djoser's Step Pyramid, the pyramids of Unas and Userkaf and the mastaba tombs of Mereruka, Ti and Ptahhotep, then on to Memphis for the reclining colossus of Ramses II and the alabaster sphinx. Lunch is included. Overnight in Cairo.

Departure from Cairo
Breakfast at the hotel, then check-out and a private transfer to Cairo International Airport at a time that suits your flight. Our representative stays with you through the departure formalities.
