Overview

Four days based in Cairo: the pyramids, the Sphinx, the Egyptian Museum and Khan el-Khalili, then a fly-in day to Luxor for the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut's temple, Karnak and Luxor Temple.

You keep the same Cairo hotel for all three nights and visit Luxor on a long day trip by air, which means no packing and unpacking. Our representative meets you at the airport whatever time you land, and a private air-conditioned car and a guide speaking English, German or Spanish look after every tour.

Your first full day covers the pyramids of Giza, the Valley Temple and the Sphinx, then the Egyptian Museum on Tahrir Square, lunch at a local restaurant and an afternoon in Khan el-Khalili, where workshops and stalls sell brass, silver, perfume oils and antiques.

The Luxor day begins with a 4:00 pickup and an early flight south. On the West Bank you see the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon; on the East Bank, Luxor Temple and Karnak with its Great Hypostyle Hall and Sacred Lake. Lunch is included, a hotel room is arranged for a rest if your flight is late, and you're back in Cairo for the night.

Itinerary

Day 1
Arrival in Cairo
Our representative meets you at the airport, day or night, and drives you to your hotel. Check in and rest. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2
Giza, Egyptian Museum & Khan el-Khalili
Pickup at 8:00 for the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre and Menkaure, the Valley Temple and the Sphinx. Continue to the Egyptian Museum on Tahrir Square, have lunch at a local restaurant and end the day in Khan el-Khalili, back at your hotel by about 17:00. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 3
Cairo → Luxor → Cairo
Pickup at 4:00 for the flight to Luxor, landing around 6:00. Visit the Valley of the Kings, the Temple of Hatshepsut and the Colossi of Memnon, then Luxor Temple and Karnak, with lunch included and a day-use room if needed. Fly back to Cairo in the evening and transfer to your hotel. Overnight in Cairo.

Departure
Breakfast at the hotel and check-out at noon. Our representative then drives you to Cairo International Airport for your flight.
